The story behind this Omega Speedmaster
In 2024, Omega is unveiling a brand-new version of its famous chronograph. This model, reference 310.30.42.50.04.001, draws inspiration from the Alaska I prototype designed in 1969 to reflect solar heat in space, as well as from the extravehicular space suits worn by NASA astronauts. This is the very first time a glossy white lacquered dial has been included in the steel lunar chronograph collection. This model meets the strong demand from collectors seeking a luminous alternative to the legendary black dial, whilst scrupulously preserving the line’s historic DNA.
Case, movement and strap of this Speedmaster
The asymmetrical case measures 42 mm in diameter. It is crafted from stainless steel and features alternating polished and brushed surfaces. The fixed black bezel features a tachymeter scale with a dot at the 90 mark. The white lacquered dial has a stepped design. It is adorned with black hands, the central seconds hand of which is tipped with a red point. The hours are marked by black applied hour-markers filled with luminescent material. The transparent case back reveals the Calibre 3861 hand-wound movement. This precision movement, fitted with a co-axial escapement, offers a power reserve of 50 hours and is resistant to magnetic fields. The watch is fitted with a 5-link steel bracelet, featuring a folding clasp with a fine-adjustment system.

The steel case, sapphire crystal and clasp show no micro-scratches or signs of wear, attesting to its perfect condition.
