The history of this Omega Speedmaster
The House of Omega has a rich history intimately linked to the conquest of space with its illustrious chronograph. However, the brand has managed to adapt this icon to women's wrists without sacrificing mechanical complexity. The result is the Reduced range, whose ingenuity is based on an innovative modular architecture. To reduce the historic diameter to a slimmer size, Omega superimposed a chronograph module on a basic calibre. This technical design, affectionately dubbed Piggyback by insiders, creates a fascinating slight offset between the crown and the push-pieces. Reference 3835.70.36 perfectly illustrates this evolution by marrying the sporting heritage of the legendary Moonwatch with a resolutely jewelled aesthetic.
Case, calibre and bracelet of this Speedmaster
This chronograph comes in a stainless steel case measuring 35.5 mm in diameter. Its armour is sublimated by a sparkling fixed bezel set with 49 brilliant-cut diamonds. The genuine white mother-of-pearl dial offers unique iridescent reflections and features applied Arabic numerals and 3 characteristic sub-counters. The whole is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Powered by the self-winding Calibre 3220, the watch has a 40-hour power reserve and 47 jewels for remarkable precision. It is water-resistant to 100 metres. To complete the aesthetic, the example is mounted on a stainless steel bracelet with asymmetrical links and is accompanied by its original white leather strap.
