Rolex launched the Datejust in 1945 to mark its 40th anniversary. This model was the first water-resistant, self-winding wristwatch to feature a date window. The round case measures 36 mm in diameter. It is crafted from a solid block of Oystersteel and features a smooth bezel in 18-carat Everose gold. The slate-coloured dial features a sunray finish that reflects the light. It incorporates rose gold baton hour-markers fitted with white luminescent material. The date is displayed beneath the sapphire crystal, topped by the Cyclops lens to facilitate reading. The watch is powered by the self-winding Calibre 3235. This movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of 70 hours. The three-link Oyster bracelet alternates between brushed steel on the outer rows and polished rose gold on the central row. The clasp secures with the Oysterclasp folding clasp, fitted with the Easylink quick-adjustment system to adjust the length by 5 mm.
