The story behind this Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M
Omega designed the Seamaster Aqua Terra collection to bridge the gap between its maritime heritage and the requirements of an everyday watch. Introduced to offer true versatility, this range is characterised by a understated aesthetic, capable of adapting to both a nautical environment and a more formal setting. This model bears the reference number 220.12.41.21.03.001 and exemplifies this approach. The visual hallmark of this piece lies in its dial, adorned with a teak motif. Originally engraved vertically, these lines were reoriented horizontally in 2017 to create a more fluid visual effect. They are a deliberate reference to the wooden slats that cover the decks of sailing boats. This watch meets the need for a robust and precise timepiece, whilst maintaining a modest thickness.
Case, movement and strap of this Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M
The stainless steel case has a diameter of 41 mm. It combines brushed finishes on the sides with polished finishes on the smooth bezel and the edges of the lugs. The deep blue dial catches the light thanks to its sunray finish and horizontal grooves. The rhodium-plated triangular hour markers point towards the centre, overlaid by facetted hands, the second hand of which ends in a fine light-blue tip. A trapezoidal date window at 6 o’clock displays the date. The case back features a sapphire crystal offering an unobstructed view of the self-winding mechanical movement, the calibre 8900. This movement, equipped with the Co-Axial escapement, guarantees a 60-hour power reserve, powered by two barrels. It bears the Master Chronometer certification, attesting to its resistance to magnetic fields and its precision. The watch is water-resistant to 150 metres. The textured blue rubber strap features a central braided pattern and light-coloured stitching, secured by a steel folding clasp with safety pushers.
