Chopard has maintained an ongoing connection with the world of motoring since 1988, the year it became the official timekeeper for the Italian race linking Brescia to Rome. Co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, a collector and racing driver who competes in the event, is directly involved in the design of the collection. This edition, bearing the reference number 168589-3002, draws on the visual themes of the classic race. The inclusion of the tread pattern from 1960s Dunlop tyres on the bracelet reflects this historical connection, offering a chronograph designed for driving.
Case, movement and strap of this Mille Miglia
The polished stainless steel case has a diameter of 42 mm. The sapphire crystal, featuring an anti-reflective coating, protects a matt black dial against which large Arabic numerals coated with luminescent material stand out. The tri-compax layout houses three chronograph sub-dials, and the central hand is tipped with a red tip. The sapphire crystal case back reveals the self-winding mechanical calibre, decorated with Côtes de Genève and COSC-certified as a chronometer. This movement, comprising 37 jewels, beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of 42 hours. The sculpted crown is reminiscent of a three-spoke steering wheel, whilst the pushers are inspired by speedometers. The natural black rubber strap fastens with a polished steel pin buckle. The watch is water-resistant to 50 metres.

This 2018 model comes with its original watch box, outer box, instruction manual, certificate of origin and original purchase invoice. The watch has been previously worn and shows minor scratches from normal use on the polished surfaces, particularly on the domed bezel. These marks are evidence of normal wear and tear, and a polish can be arranged on request.
