The story behind this Tissot T-Race
The brand celebrates the world of motorsport with this limited edition dedicated to the American rider Nicky Hayden. This model, reference T027.417.17.201.04, launched in 2009, features a design directly inspired by motorbike engineering. The brushed and open-worked bezel evokes ventilated brake discs, whilst the asymmetrical crown guard is reminiscent of a brake caliper. The number 69, the champion’s race number, appears on the case back of this timepiece, designed for enthusiasts of technical chronographs.
The case, movement and strap of this T-Race
The case, movement and strap of this T-Race are built around a 43.5 mm design. The asymmetrical case middle combines 316L stainless steel with a black composite material. The dial features a woven carbon fibre pattern, contrasted by red chronograph sub-dials at 2 and 10 o’clock, as well as a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. A synthetic sapphire crystal, fitted with a Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock, protects the dial. The skeletonised hands incorporate white luminescent material. The watch is powered by the ETA G10.211 quartz movement, offering a 1/10th-of-a-second chronograph function. It is water-resistant to 100 metres. The vulcanised red silicone strap fastens with a steel butterfly clasp.
