This 44 mm Chopard, reference 16/8997, is part of the emblematic collection born from the historic partnership between Chopard and the legendary 1,000 Miglia automobile race, of which the Maison has been the official partner since 1988. This Gran Turismo XL version embodies the “grand touring” spirit at the heart of the line: a sporty, robust and highly legible watch, designed to accompany lovers of fine mechanics both in everyday life and on more dynamic occasions. Its generous size and design inspired by automotive instruments make it an instantly recognisable timepiece.
Case, movement and bracelet
This model features a 44 mm stainless steel case, offering a strong presence on the wrist. It is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement with 24 jewels and a 46-hour power reserve. The black dial prioritises legibility with luminescent indexes and hands, a date positioned at 3 o’clock and a central small seconds display. The whole is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and completed by a sapphire exhibition caseback. The watch is fitted with a black rubber strap with a vanilla scent, an iconic signature of the Mille Miglia collection, secured by a Chopard stainless steel double folding clasp. A second stainless steel bracelet is also included.
