The ingenuity of a jewellery classic
The Happy Diamonds collection was launched in 1976 under the direction of designer Ronald Kurowski. Inspired by the waterfalls of the Black Forest, he devised an innovative concept to free the stones from their fixed settings. This pre-owned pendant features a natural brilliant-cut diamond of approximately 0.05 carats, which moves freely between two panes of glass. The stone reveals its purity and the precision of its cut with every tilt. The piece is crafted from 18-carat white gold, whose meticulous polishing ensures continuous, cool reflections. The lines are clean, crisp and embody the timeless design characteristic of the House of Chopard.
Architecture and jewellery craftsmanship
The thick centre setting precisely frames a protective double sapphire, ensuring the stone’s perfect mobility. This solitaire diamond rests in a closed-set setting in white gold, a technique specifically chosen to preserve the integrity of the crystals during its constant movement whilst maximising the gem’s exposure. The central motif is suspended by a rigid bail from a 41 cm chain consisting of round forçat links, which drape beautifully against the skin. The density of the precious metal gives the piece a clean, balanced structural drape.
Why choose this pre-owned pendant
Acquiring this piece allows you to add a historic landmark of contemporary jewellery to your collection. The generous volume of the alloy used for the pendant and chain ensures a strong, tangible presence. Choosing this pre-owned piece is a sensible decision given the cost of bespoke craftsmanship today, whilst still enjoying a design originally intended for everyday wear.
