Conceived in 1976 by designer Ronald Kurowski for Chopard, the Happy Diamonds collection is based on an innovative concept. The core idea is to free the gemstones from their static settings, allowing them to move freely. This pair of pre-owned earrings exemplifies this vision through a generous design from one of the Maison’s earlier collections. At the centre of each motif, a natural brilliant-cut diamond is encased within a transparent capsule. The total weight is estimated at 0.10 carats. The set is crafted from 18-carat yellow gold, lending it a stately presence.

The design centres on a movable, two-part setting. The upper section takes the form of a thick hoop, ensuring a secure fit on the earlobe. An intermediate ring connects this base to a lower heart-shaped motif, characterised by domed volumes and a fully polished finish. The central cavity features a double-glazed setting framing the movable gold bezel. A closed-set setting holds each diamond firmly in place whilst ensuring smooth movement. The absence of additional pavé setting focuses all attention on the density of the precious metal.
