The story behind this Tudor Pelagos Ultra
Unveiled in 2025, the Tudor Pelagos Ultra takes the lead in a line first launched in 2012, when the brand relaunched its range with a titanium diving watch, fitted with a helium escape valve and water-resistant to 500 m. Following the switch to an in-house calibre in 2015, and the subsequent launch of the Pelagos LHD and the Pelagos 39, Tudor returned to the standard model with a specific question in mind. What does a diving watch need to function in the twilight zone, at depths of between 200 and 1,000 metres? The answer lies in a case enlarged to 43 mm and water-resistant to 1,000 metres, a two-tone luminescent finish in blue and green, and a strap entirely redesigned for deep-sea diving. The Snowflake hands, a signature feature of Tudor diving watches since 1969, remain at the centre of the dial. This model, reference M2543C1A7NU-0001, joins the collection without replacing the Pelagos 500 m.
Case, movement and strap of this Pelagos Ultra
The 43 mm case, 14.5 mm thick, is fully satin-finished. The case middle, bezel and crown are made of Grade 2 titanium, the screw-down caseback is made of Grade 5 titanium, and the helium escape valve is situated on the side at 9 o’clock. The screw-down crown, embossed with the Tudor shield, is flanked by two crown guards. The unidirectional bezel features a matt black ceramic insert and a fully luminescent 60-minute scale. Beneath the domed sapphire crystal, the matt black dial with a sandblasted flange features monobloc applied hour-markers in luminescent ceramic composite, with the date at 3 o’clock. The in-house MT5612-U calibre, with a bidirectional automatic winding rotor, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour on 26 jewels and offers a 65-hour power reserve. Certified by the COSC and subsequently by METAS to the Master Chronometer standard, it is resistant to magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss. The satin-finished titanium three-link bracelet fastens with a T-fit folding clasp featuring a locking flap, with quick-adjust length adjustment, a diving extension and a luminous position indicator.
Why this Tudor watch
The Pelagos Ultra is aimed at those seeking a fully-fledged diving instrument rather than a vintage-style interpretation, the approach taken by the Black Bay. With a water resistance of 1,000 metres, this Tudor Pelagos watch doubles the water resistance of the 500-metre version and adds Master Chronometer certification. Titanium, which is lighter than steel, makes its 43 mm case comfortable to wear on the wrist or over a wetsuit. Purchased in June 2026 and supplied with its two straps, it remains covered by the Tudor 5-year warranty – which is transferable and does not require registration – until June 2031.
Contents and condition
The watch is supplied as a full Tudor set, complete with its presentation box, outer box, international warranty card dated June 2026 and two user manuals. The black rubber strap with a pin buckle is included, along with its extension link, which allows it to be lengthened up to 110 mm to fit the watch over a wetsuit, as well as three titanium links to adjust the metal bracelet. The watch is in mint condition, with no marks visible to the naked eye on the case, bezel, crystal or strap.
