Rolex introduced the Date model in the 1950s to offer an alternative to the 36 mm diameter. This model retains the Oyster architecture and the Perpetual calibre with date change. The reference 115234 follows in this tradition with a 34 mm case. This size allows the watch to slip discreetly beneath a cuff.

The 34 mm Oyster case is crafted from stainless steel. It is topped with a fluted bezel in 18-carat white gold. The white lacquered dial features applied hour markers and baton-shaped hands in white gold, coated with luminescent material. The date window is protected by a sapphire crystal with a Cyclops lens. This timepiece is powered by the Calibre 3135 self-winding mechanical movement. It offers a power reserve of 48 hours and incorporates 31 jewels. The three-link Oyster bracelet in steel alternates between polished surfaces in the centre and brushed surfaces on the sides. It fastens with an Oysterclasp folding clasp fitted with the Easylink extension. It is water-resistant to 100 metres.
