The story behind this Hublot King Power F1 Suzuka
Hublot presents a timepiece closely linked to the world of motor racing with this King Power F1 Suzuka, reference 710.ZM.1123.NR.FJP11. This chronograph celebrates the Japanese Grand Prix and highlights the brand’s role as the sport’s official timekeeper. The designers have incorporated elements directly inspired by single-seater racing cars. The black ceramic bezel is perforated with multiple holes to faithfully reproduce the appearance and cooling function of a brake disc. The strap is made from white Nomex, the same fire-resistant technical fibre used to make drivers’ overalls. This choice of materials anchors the timepiece in a concrete technical reality and adds a historical dimension for motor racing enthusiasts.
Case, movement and strap of this King Power F1 Suzuka
The case has a diameter of 48 mm and is made of zirconium, an engineering metal renowned for its lightness and high resistance to corrosion. Its grey brushed finish contrasts with the black ceramic elements and the subtle red accents on the pushers. The skeletonised dial reveals the inner workings and is organised around three sub-dials and an openworked date window. This chronograph is powered by the self-winding HUB4214 calibre. This movement, operating at 4 Hz, comprises 257 components and guarantees a power reserve of 42 hours. It is water-resistant to 100 metres. The watch is fitted with a strap combining a black rubber base with a white Nomex surface featuring red topstitching, all secured by a titanium folding clasp.
