Created in 1994 by the Italian house Pomellato, the DoDo brand pioneered the concept of modular jewellery, designed to convey a message. This second-hand necklace exemplifies this approach. It centres on a 925 silver cross with soft, rounded lines, paired with brightly coloured beads. The choice of an opaque turquoise-coloured material adds a distinctive touch to the metal, creating a composition with a bold style.
Architecture and jewellery craftsmanship
The structure of this piece is based on an interplay of materials and volumes. The main motif, a 4-centimetre Latin cross, features rounded edges and a surface polished to a mirror finish. This pendant is topped with three spacer beads. There is a solid silver bead engraved with the brand’s iconic bird, framed by two spherical cyan-blue beads with a matt finish. The whole piece is mounted on a black waxed fabric cord, the texture of which contrasts with the shine of the silver.
