Patented in 1976, Chopard’s Happy Diamonds concept is based on a precise technical approach designed to free the diamonds from their traditional metal restraints, allowing them to slide freely between two transparent sapphire discs. This pre-owned necklace showcases this signature design through the silhouette of an elephant, meticulously crafted from 18-carat white gold. The centre of the motif features three moving brilliant-cut diamonds, whilst an additional brilliant-cut diamond is set to form the animal’s eye. These gemstones have an estimated total weight of 0.17 carats and offer pure, vivid refraction.

The pendant features a particularly intricate design characterised by solid lines and softened edges. The internal space housing the three loose stones utilises an individual closed setting for each gem, ensuring smooth rotation and protecting the stones from any damage. The elephant is topped by a wide, hinged bail through which a 42-centimetre chain slides, featuring a classic jaseron link design. The surface finish consists of a full mirror polish, maximising the metal’s light reflection.
