The Art Deco movement redefined the conventions of jewellery design by replacing organic curves with strict geometric precision. This structured approach is evident here in the bold colour contrast between the central gemstone and its setting. This pre-owned piece centres on an old-cut round diamond, estimated at 0.30 carats, held in a closed-set setting. The use of 950 platinum gives the piece a cool grey hue and ensures the strength of the openwork sections.
Architecture and jewellery craftsmanship
The structure of this ring is based on an upper plate with cut corners. The central diamond is framed by a halo of blue sapphires, custom-cut to fit edge-to-edge. The band is divided into two textured sections inlaid with small diamonds set using a grain setting. The lower setting features a scroll motif, maintaining a generous visual volume whilst ensuring the ring feels light on the finger. All the edges are finished with a continuous millegrain setting.
