A vintage-inspired look
The art of millegrain dates back to the dawn of the twentieth century; it was a technique favoured during the Belle Époque to make the metal appear lighter and highlight the stones. This second-hand ring is part of this great jewellery tradition. The openwork centre features 9 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling approximately 0.09 carats. The 18-carat white gold provides a neutral, continuous backdrop that highlights the natural transparency of the gemstones.
Architecture and jewellery craftsmanship
The structure rests on an exceptionally delicate band that flows seamlessly into an asymmetrical teardrop-shaped motif. The upper rim is entirely framed by a regular beaded border. At the heart of this openwork space, the diamonds are held in place by meticulous grain-set work. This concentric arrangement ensures a constant diffusion of light whilst maintaining a light, comfortable feel when worn.

Contents and condition
The ‘750’ engraving on the inside of the ring confirms that 18-carat gold has been used for the entire structure. The setting is sized for a finger size of 54. Before it went on sale, our workshops carried out a full polish and rhodium plating to restore the alloy’s white lustre, whilst carefully checking the secure fit of each grain.
