The story of the Vicenterra GMT-3 Tome 1
Vicenterra, an independent watchmaker based in the Jura region, embodies a highly personal approach to watchmaking. The GMT-3 Tome 1 stands as the brand’s founding creation. Its launch in 2010 was based on a subscription model. To offer a three-dimensional complication without incurring traditional distribution costs, the designer brought together 100 enthusiasts to finance the production of this first series. The VT S01 model carries on this legacy of technical independence. It caters to the demand for original mechanical movements, designed outside the usual standards.
Case, calibre and strap of this GMT-3 Tome 1
The architecture of this watch is centred on a 316L stainless steel tonneau-shaped case, measuring 43 mm wide by 48 mm long and 12 mm thick. Its curved lines frame a multi-layered dial, dominated by a three-dimensional globe positioned at 5 o’clock, which completes a full rotation in 24 hours. A second time zone is displayed at 7 o’clock, complemented by a retrograde date display at 2 o’clock and a day/night indicator in the upper section. Three discreet diamonds are set in the lower plate at 6 o’clock. The watch is powered by the VT 001 calibre, a self-winding mechanical movement offering a 42-hour power reserve and oscillating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The finishes alternate between polished and brushed surfaces, ensuring water resistance to 50 metres. The watch is secured to the wrist by a black alligator leather strap.
