The history of this TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 GMT
TAG Heuer’s diving watch lineage dates back to 1978 and the reference 844, the brand’s first diving watch, whose rotating bezel and robust case set the standards for the collection. In 2021, the brand completely redesigned the Aquaracer Professional 300 collection, centring it around a 12-sided bezel and octagonal hour markers – features designed to remain legible both underwater and on the surface. The GMT version, reference WBP5114.FT6259, launched in 2024, adds to this base design a 24-hour hand and a two-tone bezel graduated over 24 hours. It meets a specific need: that of the traveller who wishes to read two time zones on a chronometer-certified diving watch, without compromising on its 300-metre water resistance. Within the collection, it shares its 42 mm case with the Date version.
Case, movement and strap of this Aquaracer Professional 300 GMT
The 42 mm stainless steel case features alternating satin-finished surfaces and polished chamfers, with a solid caseback engraved in relief and a screw-down crown. It is 13.1 mm thick and measures 21 mm between the lugs, with a water resistance of 300 m. The 12-sided rotating bezel features a ceramic insert graduated over 24 hours, black for night-time hours and blue for daytime hours. Beneath the sapphire crystal, the blue dial with a horizontal wave pattern features luminescent applied hour markers, a date window at 6 o’clock and a turquoise-blue arrow-tipped GMT hand. The self-winding TH31-03 calibre, certified as a chronometer by the COSC, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers an 80-hour power reserve. The blue rubber strap fastens with a TAG Heuer-branded steel folding clasp with push-buttons, which echoes the dial’s colour on the wrist.
Why this TAG Heuer watch
This Aquaracer GMT combines a diver’s watch water-resistant to 300 m with a travel complication that can be read at a glance. The central hands show the local time, the GMT hand indicates a second time zone over a 24-hour period, and a simple rotation of the bezel allows you to track a third. The 80-hour power reserve means you can leave it aside for a whole weekend. The rubber strap can withstand swimming and salt water without any special precautions, making it as suitable for holidays as it is for the office. COSC certification guarantees accuracy verified by an independent body. As a pre-owned item, it is offered in this blue rubber version in mint condition, complete with its original certificates and backed by our warranty.
