The story behind this Omega Constellation My Choice
Omega presents here a unique iteration of its Constellation collection. Launched in the mid-1990s as a result of a collaboration with brand ambassador Cindy Crawford, the My Choice range marks an interesting milestone in ladies’ watchmaking. It was one of the first times a public figure had been directly involved in the design choices for a timepiece, tailoring it to the expectations of its era. This model, reference 1495.71.00, captures the spirit of the 2000s with its balanced proportions and precise geometric design. Its connection to the world of fashion has firmly established this creation within the brand’s catalogue.
Case, movement and strap of this Constellation
The 27 mm stainless steel case features a combination of brushed surfaces and polished chamfers. Its tonneau-shaped silhouette features four polished side claws that straddle a bezel set with 40 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 0.51 carats. Beneath a sapphire crystal lies a natural white mother-of-pearl dial with iridescent hues. It features 11 pyramid-shaped applied hour markers and a date window at 3 o’clock. The integrated steel bracelet follows the lines of the case and fastens with a folding clasp. The watch is powered by the calibre 2520, which provides a 42-hour power reserve.
Why this Omega watch
This mechanical configuration, combined with the mother-of-pearl dial and gem-set bezel, makes for a highly sought-after second-hand model. Many models from this generation are fitted with quartz calibres, and the presence of an automatic movement adds undeniable technical appeal. The combination of matt steel and gemstone detailing offers great versatility.
