The story behind this Hublot Big Bang
Launched in 2005 under the leadership of Jean-Claude Biver, the Big Bang collection introduced the concept of the art of fusion. The watch’s architecture is based on a case constructed from several dozen separate components. This technical approach makes it possible to combine steel, titanium and composite materials within a single structure. The reference 341.SX.1270.VR.1104 embodies this assembly philosophy by adding diamond-set steel.
Case, movement and strap of this Big Bang
The 41 mm case features polished and brushed finishes on a base of stainless steel and titanium, separated by side inserts in matt black resin. The steel bezel is set with 114 brilliant-cut diamonds. The black dial features three recessed sub-dials and a date window positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock. The time is displayed by hands coated with white luminescent material and by eight applied hour markers, each set with a diamond. The sapphire crystal case back reveals the HUB4300 calibre, an automatic chronograph movement comprising 278 components and offering a 42-hour power reserve. Water resistance is guaranteed to 100 metres. The strap is a hybrid design combining a black calfskin leather surface with a textured rubber base, fastened by a steel folding clasp.
