An Engraved Legacy
The ornamentation of the edges of wedding rings is a technique dating back to the Edwardian and Art Deco periods, designed to provide a subtle aesthetic detail, visible only to the wearer. This second-hand, unsigned full-band ring revives this jewellery tradition. Crafted in 18-carat white gold, it features a delicate frieze engraved with a herringbone pattern along its sides. The centre band is set with 31 natural brilliant-cut diamonds. The consistent sizing of each gem brings the total carat weight to approximately 0.93 carats. The stones, with their striking clarity, create a continuous line of light that contrasts with the metalwork.
Architecture and jewellery craftsmanship
The design of this wedding ring is based on an exceptionally lightweight setting. The craftsmen have opted for a grain setting to secure the 31 diamonds, minimising the presence of the metal to allow the light to shine through. Beneath this set line, the inner surface of the ring is hollowed out by large rectangular cut-outs. This openwork design allows light to pass fully through the diamond settings, whilst ensuring comfort when worn. The sides, adorned with engravings, have been given a full mirror polish.

Contents and condition
This wedding ring is size 54. Its design, which features gemstones set all the way round the band, makes resizing technically impossible. The inside of the band bears the ‘750’ engraving certifying its fineness. The piece has undergone a rigorous process in our workshops, including full rhodium plating and polishing that preserves the side motifs. The settings have been checked to ensure a secure fit.
