The story behind this Franck Muller Vanguard
Franck Muller presents an evolution of its classic lines with the Vanguard collection. Designed to give the famous Cintrée Curvex case a more dynamic profile, this design does away with visible lugs in favour of a seamless integration of the bracelet. The V 45 SC DT RCG model pays tribute to Montenegro through a limited edition of 25 pieces. On this model, the pronounced curve of the sapphire crystal presented a technical challenge. It was necessary to curve not only the dial but also the central appliqué depicting the double-headed eagle, in order to precisely follow the curvature of the crystal.
Case, movement and bracelet of this Vanguard
This timepiece features an 18-carat rose gold case measuring 44 mm in width. Its fully polished finish is complemented by red composite side inserts. Beneath the sapphire crystal, the red dial with a vertical brushed finish features large applied Arabic numerals, highlighted with luminescent material. The Montenegrin emblem takes centre stage, overlooking a date window at 6 o’clock. The solid case back reveals the FM 0800 calibre self-winding mechanical movement. Comprising 158 components and 21 jewels, it offers a power reserve of 42 hours at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. The watch is water-resistant to 30 metres. It is worn on an integrated bi-material strap combining a rubber base with a red alligator leather overlay, fastened with a rose gold pin buckle.
