The story behind this Cartier Pasha C
The House of Cartier has a rich heritage of bold creations. The Pasha model traces its roots back to 1932 when it was specially commissioned by the Pasha of Marrakech, who wanted an elegant, water-resistant timepiece for his bathing. Re-launched in 1985 under the direction of Gérald Genta, this model introduces a strong geometry with a square inscribed in a perfect circle. In 1995, the Pasha C version shook up the codes by offering the 1st solid steel version in the collection. This reference 2475 perfectly embodies this sport chic spirit of the 2000s by adding a useful complication to its timeless allure.
Case, calibre and bracelet of this Pasha C
Made of stainless steel, the case measures 35 mm in diameter and is approximately 9 mm thick. Its architecture is distinguished by its Vendôme-type central attachments and its famous crown concealed beneath an imposing screw-down protective cap. The latter is held to the side by a delicate chain. The wide polished bezel frames a flat sapphire crystal protecting an off-white dial. It features the characteristic railway track minute track and 4 stylised Arabic numerals. Large blued-steel sword-shaped hands decorated with luminescent material run across the dial. The mechanical self-winding Calibre 052 movement powers this timepiece. It has a 42-hour power reserve and oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. A large window at 6 o'clock displays the date on 2 separate discs. The integrated brushed and polished steel bracelet closes with an invisible folding clasp. Theoretical water resistance is 100 metres.
