The distinctive design of this Cartier ring
Designed by Aldo Cipullo in New York in 1969, the Love collection established the Maison’s jewellery style. This pre-owned ring dates from the 1990s and is designated as ‘Extra Large’. Crafted from a solid block of 18-carat yellow gold, it is exceptionally substantial. The reference number BT 1114 ensures its direct traceability within the manufacturer’s archives.
Architecture and jewellery craftsmanship
The band is 11.8 mm wide. A straight central groove, carved around the entire circumference of the band, divides the solid gold surface. A screw head is meticulously crafted and aligned with this groove. The metal has been given a full mirror polish, producing sharp reflections on the smooth surfaces and in the recessed areas.
Why choose this second-hand ring
Opting for this vintage piece is a discerning choice. Contemporary versions in the catalogue no longer offer this width of 11.8 mm. Acquiring this second-hand piece provides a substantial amount of gold and a structure that is particularly robust for everyday wear. It is a historic design that highlights the weight of the precious metal in its construction.
Contents and condition
The authenticity markings are located on the inside of the band. These include the Cartier signature, the 750 hallmark confirming the alloy, and a master’s mark. The ring is sized for a finger size of 63. Our craftsmen have re-polished the entire piece and checked its finish in our workshops. This ring is supplied with its The Swiss Collector box.
