The geometric heritage of the Royal Oak collection
In 1972, Gérald Genta designed an octagonal bezel for the watch industry, inspired by divers’ helmets. Audemars Piguet has adapted this aesthetic for its jewellery collection. This pre-owned piece in 18-carat white gold retains the geometry of the original model, whilst replacing the functional screws with precious stones. The B0028 model features a continuous pavé setting of brilliant-cut diamonds. The architectural precision of the metal combines with a clean, bold silhouette to ensure a subtle yet striking presence on the finger.
Architecture and jewellery craftsmanship
The 750 white gold setting measures 10.6 millimetres in width. The central body features five even rows of clear diamonds, securely held in place by a grain setting. On the sides, the ring incorporates eight recesses, each housing a single diamond in a closed setting, a direct homage to the screws on a watch case. The total weight of the gemstones is estimated at 1.50 carats. The metal structure features a mirror polish both inside and out, contrasting with the pavé-set surface.
