One year after the runaway success of the first-generation Tissot Heritage Navigator Chrono Auto 1973, Tissot is launching a second series of its tonneau-shaped chronograph. Innovative by tradition, this expressive timepiece is part of Tissot's partnership with the Kessel Classics vintage car racing team. This comfortable, high-quality-finished 43 mm wide timepiece once again blends sporty chic with neo-vintage design language.
To recognize the 2020 vintage of the Tissot Heritage Navigator Chrono Auto 1973 at first glance, simply focus on the chronograph's minute totalizer at 3 o'clock. The sector between 0 and 5 minutes is tinted blue, contrasting with the rest of the counter. Indeed, the interplay of colors between totalizers, dial and flange is part of the visual identity of the 1973 Navigators.
The flange of the Tissot Heritage Navigator Chrono Auto 1973 is graduated with a tachometric scale reaching 500 km/h. It goes hand in hand with mushroom-shaped chronograph pushers, typical of the 1960s and 1970s. Last but not least, the straps are of the racing type, invented by Tissot in 1965 and recognizable by their ample perforations, made to let the skin breathe in stressful driving situations, or in the high heat of a single-seater cockpit.
