The history of this TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Special Edition
This TAG Heuer was born from the official collaboration between two icons of sport and performance: TAG Heuer and Porsche. Sharing a common heritage in motorsport, the two Houses combined their expertise in 2021 to create a chronograph celebrating speed and functional design. Part of the Carrera collection, inspired by the legendary Carrera Panamericana, this Special Edition embodies the racing DNA of both brands through a resolutely sporty and contemporary watch.
Case, calibre and bracelet
This TAG Heuer is powered by the in-house HEUER 02 Swiss Made calibre, an automatic chronograph movement beating at 28 800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), composed of 39 jewels and offering a generous power reserve of approximately 80 hours. The 44 mm brushed stainless steel case is paired with a fixed black ceramic tachymeter bezel with alternating finishes. The sapphire crystal is domed, bevelled and treated with double anti-reflective coating. The crown, positioned at 3 o’clock, combines polished steel and rubber. The grained-effect grey dial is inspired by Porsche bodywork and features three sub-dials, a black flange with a 60 seconds/minutes scale, grey gold-plated indexes and rhodium-plated hands, all coated with Super-LumiNova®. The red-lacquered central chronograph hand recalls the Porsche universe. The watch is fitted with a leather strap with grey stitching inspired by Porsche upholstery, secured by a PVD-treated steel folding clasp with double safety push-buttons. The watch is water-resistant to 100 metres.
