The design of the Possession hoop earrings
Launched in 1990, the Possession collection introduced a design based on a movable central ring. These pre-owned hoop earrings, dating from the first year of production, perfectly illustrate this design. The mirror-polished 18-carat yellow gold setting features 16 brilliant-cut diamonds. These gemstones, with an estimated total weight of 0.25 carats, are colourless and transparent, and blend seamlessly with the piece’s precise geometry.
Architecture and jewellery craftsmanship
The half-moon structure exhibits a notable material density. The central ring is framed by two godron-cut flanges. The 16 diamonds are secured by a precise bezel setting, placing the stones flush with the gold. This technique ensures a smooth, flawless surface.
Why choose these second-hand hoop earrings
Acquiring a piece of jewellery from the 1990s provides access to generously proportioned settings, characteristic of that period. Buying second-hand in this case offers a substantial, dense piece, featuring period-style setting, which is difficult to compare with contemporary standards of weight and production.

With a diameter of 26 millimetres, these hoop earrings make a balanced visual statement. The clasp is an omega clip. The internal engravings bear the Piaget signature, the year 1990 and the 750 hallmark. The piece is supplied in a The Swiss Collector presentation box.
