Launched in 1950, the Memovox – whose name means ‘the voice of memory’ – was designed to support the daily lives of post-war businessmen. The watch features a round rose gold case measuring 40 mm in diameter. Its surfaces feature a full mirror polish on the bezel and lugs, whilst the solid caseback displays a circular brushed finish around the embossed medallion. The silver-coloured dial, with a sunburst finish, gently catches the ambient light. It features applied Arabic numerals at the 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions, complemented by geometric hour markers. At the centre of the dial, an independent rotating disc topped with a triangle allows the alarm time to be set intuitively. Dauphine-style hands indicate the hours and minutes, complemented by a slender blue seconds hand. Beneath this dial lies the self-winding mechanical Calibre 956 movement, providing a power reserve of 45 hours. This mechanism drives the time, the date visible through a window at 3 o’clock, and the mechanical chime with its clear tone. The watch is fitted with a dark brown alligator leather strap featuring discreet topstitching, fastened with a classic rose gold pin buckle.
