The history of this Hublot Classic Fusion
The Nyon-based manufacture bases its identity on the bold concept of the art of fusion. Created in the early 1980s under the impetus of Carlo Crocco, the company has turned the traditional codes of haute horlogerie on their head. By combining a precious gold case with a natural rubber strap for the very first time, it defined a new vision of the sporty, luxurious watch. The current model continues this heritage by refining its lines and volumes. Reference 511.CM.1171.RX is a perfect illustration of this evolution towards a highly accomplished contemporary minimalism. In its Black Magic version, the silhouette takes up the original shape inspired by ship portholes, while adopting avant-garde materials. The absence of a textured dial on this version underlines a clear desire to offer pure, distraction-free reading.
Case, caliber and bracelet of this Classic Fusion
The 45 mm case is fashioned entirely in black ceramic. This material, renowned for its hardness and scratch resistance, features a subtle alternation of polished flanks and satin-finished lugs. The ceramic bezel is secured by six finely polished H-shaped titanium screws. Beneath the flat, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the matt black dial features beveled applique hour-markers and a date window. The transparent back reveals the calibre HUB1112 self-winding movement. Comprising 63 components, including 25 jewels, this precise mechanism beats at a frequency of 4 Hz and guarantees a 42-hour power reserve. The watch is fitted with a black natural rubber strap, lined in the center and smooth on the edges. It closes with a folding clasp featuring stainless steel blades and a wide black PVD-coated cover.
