The story behind this Hublot Big Bang
Hublot has adapted the design of its 2005 Big Bang chronograph into a wall clock. The AL 3297 model was originally designed for the brand’s official boutiques and partners. The back of the structure features a handwritten note in white felt-tip pen by Jean-Claude Biver, reading ‘eternity has no conscience’. This historic detail illustrates the former CEO’s vision of our relationship with time and the place of watch design in our living spaces.
Case, calibre and strap of this Big Bang
This wall-mounted piece measures 45 cm in width and 52 cm in height. The structure is made of black PVD-coated steel. The circular bezel is held in place by six metal screws, the slots of which form the letter H. The right-hand side features a crown and two decorative pushers in brushed metal. The black dial features a regular grid pattern. The display features applied hour markers and large Arabic numerals to ensure optimal legibility. The time is indicated by two skeletonised main hands and a red seconds hand tipped with the Hublot logo. The watch is powered by a battery-operated quartz movement. The wall-mounting system is moulded directly into the back plate.
