The story of this Hamilton Jazzmaster Square
The history of Hamilton is closely linked to the evolution of American watch design prior to the brand’s establishment in Switzerland. The Jazzmaster collection exemplifies this balance between classicism and architectural boldness. With this model, reference H324150, the brand offers a geometric interpretation of time that pays homage to its heritage. In the 1920s, Hamilton was one of the first manufacturers to design shaped cases to break away from the standard round design, as exemplified by the Piping Rock model launched in 1928. This square timepiece continues this tradition with a bold presence on the wrist.
Case, movement and strap of this Jazzmaster Square
The 38 mm case is crafted from stainless steel with a fully polished finish. The clean lines of the bezel frame a silver-coloured dial divided into two distinct zones. The centre features a sunray brushed finish, whilst the smooth outer ring is adorned with applied metal hour markers and three Arabic numerals. The dial is adorned with sword-shaped hands and features a date window positioned beneath the 3 o’clock hour marker. The transparent case back reveals the ETA 2824-2 automatic movement, fitted with 25 jewels. This Swiss movement operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and guarantees a power reserve of 40 hours. This watch is water-resistant to 10 ATM. The brown textured leather strap fastens with a steel butterfly clasp.
Why choose this Hamilton watch
This model is no longer produced by the manufacturer, making its square design particularly sought-after by enthusiasts of clean, bold lines. It represents an opportunity to acquire a Swiss mechanical timepiece with an unusual design. The contemporary market overwhelmingly favours round designs, lending this model a unique character and distinct identity.
