The story behind this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak

A discreet technical detail marks the identity of this piece on the back of the case, where a rooster is engraved. This bird remains the traditional symbol used in Swiss haute horlogerie to indicate the presence of an alarm complication.
Case & movement of this Royal Oak Pendulette
The solid gold-plated brass case measures 70 mm in diameter. It rests on a flat rectangular base, ensuring its stability when placed on a piece of furniture. The octagonal bezel features a precise linear brushed finish and polished bevelled edges, secured by eight hexagonal through-screws. The matt cream-coloured dial is punctuated by 11 metal applied hour markers. The two main hands are baton-shaped and incorporate green luminescent material to ensure the time can be read in the dark. An additional central gold-coloured hand allows the alarm time to be set with precision. The watch is powered by a Swiss quartz movement, ensuring reliability. The solid case back features three textured crowns for setting the time and activating the alarm.
