The history of this Gilbert Albert Mimosa ring :
Gilbert Albert was born in Geneva in 1930. Trained in jewellery-making from the age of 15, he began his career at Patek Philippe before opening his own workshop in 1962, then his gallery on Rue de la Corraterie in 1973. His work is rooted in nature: he combined gold with meteorites, coral, scarabs and fossilised bone, with no regard for convention. He received the Diamonds International Award ten times and became the first living jeweller since Fabergé to exhibit at the Kremlin. But it was his interchangeable bead ring that brought him to public attention in the 1980s — a gold setting and beads you swap on a whim. The Mimosa collection is a light, botanical take on this concept, and one of the most wearable pieces in his body of work.
